The New Multi-tasking Egg Toaster is Fantastic!

So Simple anyone can boil, poach or scramble an egg to perfection. No doubt this toaster will get the best gadget of the year award. Everyone needs a toaster, why not have a toaster that can cook eggs too? A perfect gift for the lazy housekeeper! This is one kitchen gadget that will stay on the countertop, not wind up stuffed in some dark corner of a cabinet. Good thing eggs are cheap cause suddenly I am eating them like crazy.

My Back to Basics Egg & Muffin Toaster arrived and guess what I had for dinner? Looking at this gadget on the web I just couldn't see how people were putting 4 eggs in there to boil. Well it is bigger than it looks. You can make hard boiled eggs in less time than you can boil water on the stove and they come out perfect. You can make poached eggs or even little omelettes in the mini cooking pan. Wipe out the little cleaning pan and you are ready to make another egg, clean up is a breeze.

The amount of water you put in is what determines how long your egg or eggs will cook. This egg cooking toaster senses when the water is gone and shuts off. It has a time delay feature on the toaster part. The egg will start cooking first and then the toast so that everything is done at the same time.

The water tray remains on the toaster and you just pour in a few tablespoons of water. The instructions will tell you how much to use. The large tray on the left is what you stand your eggs up in if you want to make hard or soft boiled eggs. This goes on top of the water tray. The small round pan goes on top of this. This is what you use to cook a single egg out of the shell. The tray with the grid goes above the egg and this is where you put your pre-cooked breakfast meat to heat it up. Last but not least you put on the clear cover which has a small hole to let the steam escape.

It is amazing how quickly the water heats. I saw steam almost instantly when I started the toaster. Clean up is easy and you can cook toast alone or just an egg if you want. The outside of the unit seems to stay cool.

I agree with the other reviews I have read and give the toaster 5 stars.

Needless to say if you want to cook breakfast for the whole family at one time this is not the way to go. For the single person or people with kids who want to make their own snacks it can't be beat It would also be a great additon to any office kitchen.

The first egg I cooked I used oil in the pan and the second I used cooking spray. Clean-up is easy if you use cooking spray! With the oil I had a lot of egg left stuck to the little pan. The instructions say to use cooking spray, but hey, who reads instructions.

Hard or soft boiled eggs are done in a flash. Eggs are not really boiled, they are steamed. That sounds kind of gross but they are the best hard boiled eggs I ever had. The small amount of water used is why the eggs cook so fast. Before you can boil eggs on your stove top this toaster will have your eggs boiled to perfection.

I know it is just a matter of time before I loose my instructions on how much water to add, so I am posting them below.

No more excuses for not having a healthy breakfast. You can go off and do something else while the toaster is making your breakfast, it will shut off when it is ready. Only thing is, it is so fast you really won't have time to do much!

Remember before you boil your eggs in the shell to poke a small hole in each one with the egg piercer. I forgot to do this, my eggs did not explode, but they can so remember, or you may make a terrible mess.

I hard boiled 4 eggs and they came out perfect. I never seem to get them just right when I do them on the stove. The egg & muffin toaster got them just right and in less time.
