Toto Neorest Toilet - Lid opens as you approach

My dogs favorite water bowl is the toilet and when I had kids they would often forget to flush or put the lid down. Toto has solved that problem with the Neorest toilet. The toilet lid opens as you approach, then when you leave it closes and flushes. Will it open when the dog approaches? I don't know the answer to this, but at least it will be clean water. If that cat tries to jump up there and sit on the lid, will it open while the cat is in midair and cause the cat to land with a splash?
