Handheld Pet Hair Vacuums & Brush Attachments

Pet hair everywhere, on the carpet, on the couch, in the car. Vacuum manufacturers are finally coming up with vacuums and brushes maid specifically to deal with the pet hair problem. There are vacuum brush and shedding blade attachments so you can brush your dog or cat and suck up the hair at the same time. Many reviewers say that even though their dog was scared of the vacuum cleaner they have been able to use these attachments. I am going to try one and will report back later.

Two handheld portable vacuums that I am interested in are the Bissell Pet Hair Eraser and the Eureka 71B.

The Eureka has a turbo brush and a 20 foot power cord. I think it will work great on the car as well as the couch. Over 700 people have reviewed in on Amazon and it has 4.5 stars. Eureka doesn't even mention pet hair in product information for this model but reading the reviews I found that is what a lot of people are using it for.

The hand held pet hair eraser is designed for pet hair pick up, it has a rubber flexible grippy thang on the end, but no rotating brushes. The pet hair eraser has a 16 foot cord. It has over 200 reviews and rates 4.5 stars.

Both of these vacuums have a strong exhaust that will blow hair around on a hardwood floor, so keep that in mind. What works great on your couch may not be want you want for a hard surface floor.

I'm still looking and trying to decide between the vac with the turbo brush or the Bissell with the rubber grippy thing and I came across the Bissell Pet Pack Vacuum Attachments. This package has a rubber grippy attachment and a turbo tool that also has some rubber grippy thangs on it. Scroll to the bottom of the page to see the images. One advantage of the flexible rubber is that it will bend to the shape of what you are vacuuming. Not only will it work great on stairs I think it will work on the wheel humps in the back of my SUV. The fact that Bissell included a turbo brush tool in this pack makes me realize that the handheld pet hair eraser will not do it all with only it's rubber gripper.

This vacuum attachment has rubber grippers similar to the pet hair eraser above. If you don't want to buy another vacuum you might want to try this attachment to use with your current vacuum.
